Round trip transportation to and from Waikiki, a docent led tour through Iolani Palace, local-style lunch at Bishop Museum, with time to enjoy Hawaiian hall, the Planetarium and our live lava demonstration!
Travel back in time to gain a better understanding and appreciation of a race of way finders and warriors who first arrived on these majestic shores over 2,000 years ago.
From completion of the ‘Iolani Palace in 1882 to the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893, be captivated with stories about the Royal residents and how they lived, as you are led through the first floor state rooms and second floor private quarters.
Travel back further at the Bishop Museum and explore everything from the evolution of the Hawaiian Islands, to the ancestral migrations to these islands and how Polynesian navigators used the stars to find their way!
Tie it all together in Hawaiian Hall and meet the Ali‘i (royal class). Through over 3,900 exhibits hear their stories, experience their trials and triumphs and embrace the true spirit of these islands.
Arrive: ‘Iolani Palace: 9:20 a.m. (9:30 a.m. tour)
Bus will pull in on Palace grounds and drop guests right at entrance for start of tour where docent will greet them
Total tour time at ‘Iolani Palace: 1 hour
Depart: ‘Iolani Palace 11:00 a.m.
Arrive: Bishop Museum 11:20 a.m. met by docent who will welcome and lead group to café
Depart Bishop Museum: 2:00 p.m.
Return: to Waikiki by 2:45 p.m.
Total tour time: 6 and ½ hours
*Things to remember: Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Bishop Museum does not have an ATM on property.

Learn about Hawai’i’s volcanoes and watch rock and cinder melt in this exciting live lava demonstration! See real lava! Great for children ages 2-10 years.

12:30 p.m.- The Sky Tonight Planetarium Show
Explore the current evening sky in Hawai‘i under the guidance of a planetarium presenter. You’ll get a star map (yours to take home!) to help find tonight’s constellations and planets.
30 min – J. Watumull Planetarium – No Late Seating
1:00 p.m. – Nā Mea Makamae a Kahiko, Treasures of the Past
Learn about the culture and history of Hawai’i and the Pacific on this guided gallery tour through historic Hawaiian Hall.
